Nora GÜrtler
Group Chief Audit Officer (Generali Group)
Since 2017, Nora Gürtler is the Chief Audit Officer at Generali Group. She began her career as an analyst at Tillinghast Towers Perrin in Cologne after completing a PhD in Mathematics at Karlsruhe University. In 2003, she joined Generali Deutschland as a Senior Analyst and Technical Controller, becoming a Qualified Actuary in 2005 and a team leader for Actuarial Valuation Life & Health in 2007. In 2011, Nora was appointed Chief Risk Officer of Generali in Germany, where she also led the local Solvency II implementation project. She became a Board member of Generali Deutschland in early 2016 before moving to the Group Head Office in late 2017.
Nora chairs the ECIIA Insurance Committee and is a Board member of the German Actuarial Association (DAV), where she chairs the Education Committee. Since joining the Group Head Office, Nora has enhanced the Internal Audit function, focusing on integrating advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence in audit processes and establishing a global IT Ecosystem for the Internal Audit Functions in Generali Group. She has led numerous transversal audit projects across various international markets, ensuring robust risk management and compliance frameworks. Nora is also actively involved in mentoring young professionals within Generali Group and promoting diversity and inclusion initiatives.
