Barbora Janíčková
Department Director of the Central Harmonization Unit (Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic)
Since 2016, Barbora Janíčková has been the Director of the Department of the Central Harmonization Unit at the Ministry of Finance. In this role, she is responsible for legislation and methodology in the areas of internal audit, governance, public sector control, risk management, and the implementation of the 3E principles in public administration bodies. She leads the central contact team AFCOS, which analyses and reports irregularities related to the implementation of European Structural and Investment Funds and the National Recovery Plan. Together with her colleagues, she is also putting into practice the new agenda for spending review, which aims to provide ministers and the government with analytical data for evaluating public policies and interventions, focusing on their effectiveness and efficiency.
Barbora is a graduate of the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics in Prague. During her studies, she began working in Management Consulting at Deloitte, where she stayed for another six years. She participated in numerous projects focused on process analysis, financial management, and increasing the efficiency of public administration organizations, particularly within the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Defence, regional governments, and public universities. Since 2023, Barbora has been a member of the Audit Committee of the European Investment Bank, currently presiding over it. Since 2024, she has also been a member of the Audit Committee of the Czech Export Bank. She represents the Czech Republic in the OECD's Central Harmonization Units Working Group and participates in the World Bank's Public Expenditure Management Peer-Assisted Learning (PEMPAL Internal Audit Community of Practice).
