Michaela Janečková

Michaela Janečková studied journalism at Charles University and works as a journalist. She began her editorial work at Lidové noviny, where she was uveiling for example the underground of the domestic far right extremism. Information from her articles contributed to the conviction of the so-called Vítkov arsonists. She later traded her pen for a microphone and joined Czech Television, where she spent over ten years reporting for the economic editorial team on Události and editing the program Byznys ČT24. She occasionally collaborates with Deník N and is now fully dedicated to writing.
Her literary debut, Cherries in Rum, was a hit, even earning the Miloslav Švandrlík Prize for the best humorous book of 2022.
